Yes - there is a great need 1 in 100 children are born with a congenital heart defect, many go undiagnosed and lack the necessary medical care. This is the leading birth defect and is a field seriously lacking in both good cardiologists (who can diagnose while the child is still in utero) and good pediatric cardio-thorasic surgeons.
