your vets course of treatment sounds good. your dog may have a mild case of pancreatitis which can be caused from dietary indescretion. with pancreatitis, the pancreatic values may or may not be elevated. if the vomiting continues, see your vet again, but it sounds like your vet is giving the appropriate treatment for your dog.
