I like this shy guy but i'm not sure if he likes me or not?

i like a shy guy and he knows i like him because i wrote him a note saying i did. i kinda look at him a lot, and i've caught him also looking back a few times. he hasn't replied to my note, and i don't think he will. it's been like 2 months, but i still like him. also, about a month ago, someone in my cl(Tony) asked him if he liked me, and he said "f no." i know that because one of my friends(michelle) asked tony to ask him b/c tony and him were friends. after that, though, he's still looking at me. in the morning, we have to sit in the school gym on the bleachers. if i end up next to him, i notice he scoots a little bit closer to me, and he'll bump shoulders w/ me. 2 friday's ago, i caught him looking at me like 4 times. my closest friends insists he likes me back, but i'm hesitant b/c he never replied. they say "he's shy," but idk. he knows i like him. anyway, i was wondering if someone could offer some advice.. should i talk to him? (i've been meaning to, but i'm a bit shy also, and i don't want him to reject me). or should i wait for him to talk to me first? k thanks :D.. **btw we're in middle school, js**
