Why do many liberals seem to think theirs is the ONLY acceptable POV?

I am in complete agreement with you and I am a pretty intense liberal. The fact that we have so many partisans unable to accept that we cannot view the world strictly from a liberal or conservative slant is killing this country. The "When we do it it's OK but when they do it it's destroying our nation " mentality must be stopped. But you must accept the fact that there are many conservatives out there that feel theirs is the only acceptable POV. We view the world through our own mindset, be it liberal or conservative. Liberals hate Bush, conservatives despised Clinton. Liberals hate Jesse Helms, many conservatives hate Ted Kennedy. When Kennedy dies I expect a similar reaction from the Right. For this Nation to move forward we MUST find a way to ignore the ideologues and start moving toward a middle ground where we can come together. We are one nation. We have our beliefs, we have our disagreements, but liberals, conservatives, Democrats, Republicans must all stop thinking of defeating each other and learn how to work toward the good of our country. Accepting our differences and making this country strong again. So there!
